English Language Program for International Women

Spring Semester 2024: Classes are being held Jan. 16-May 2, 2024, 1:00-2:30 pm.
Small World semesters and holidays coincide with the KU and Lawrence public schools academic calendars. No classes are held during the summer.

Class Time & Place
When: Classes are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1:00-2:30 pm.
(Small World no longer meets in the morning as in the past.)
Where: 2415 Clinton Parkway, Lawrence, inside First Presbyterian Church (see Contact page for map).
Our Program
Small World is for adult WOMEN ONLY. We no longer have a children’s program. Small World gives women the opportunity to learn or improve their English skills as they meet and socialize with international and American women.
Ongoing Enrollment
Women may enroll at any time during the semester, subject to availability. Classes are taught at beginning, intermediate and advanced levels by experienced English-speaking teachers. All classes are taught by women. Students are moved to the next level when the teacher feels the student has achieved the ability to proceed.
Tuition
Tuition is $20 per semester or $35 if you pay for two semesters.
Students may not attend class until they have paid their tuition. Small World has fewer classes than in the past so class size may be limited.
